There is a darkness

That resides

Deep inside,

Exposed,

When light

Comes

To find it.

When illuminated

I see,

It is but

A forlorn child

Weeping

Down the centuries,

Hopelessly waiting.

Waiting to be found,

To be seen,

To be loved.

I stand and look,

Heartbroken,

To see his pain.

Our eyes meet,

I promise

To care for him,

To bestow him

With love,

To guide him

From the depths.

In my arms

I take him,

He is safe now,

With me,

Me with him,

Together

In the light.
