A walk,

A talk,

A fire burns,

Smokey,

Obscuring,

Heating,

Choking the air.

Into the open

I stride,

Seeking

Clean

Fresh

Air,

To breathe.

The sullied fumes

To be expunged,

My lungs,

My heart

To be freed,

Lightness

To return.

For now

I walk again,

No more talk,

Me at my side

In quiet truth,

Together,

In an honest harmony.
